And now my journey through this game is at its end. We are at the last character, one that I’ve been wanting to play since day one and we first saw his golden eyes glaring at you, the enigmatic Caesar.
That.
I really enjoyed his story a lot!
He’s kinda like a cat showing their belly to you. You want to pet it, but if you do, you risk getting bitten. Except he’s harmless. Once you get to know him, he’s more of a silly goof than a threatening figure. By silly goof, I don’t mean he’s actually goofy, just one of those characters that’s all talk. Or all bark, if you will.
Caesar’s always a little gruff to Fuka, but you can tell when he’s putting on a show versus being grumpy. Soh acts as an intermediary between the two and always lets you know what sort of cute things he’s said and done in your absence.
Both of his endings are exciting and end on a sweet note.
The only thing I can think of that could be improved would be more scenes between the two of them, simply because they’re so fun to read. Fuka slowly breaks down his barriers and gets him to trust her. Caesar threatens to eat her the entire time, but after the second meeting or so it’s not a threat so much as an expression of affection.
Well, I really love characters like him in the first place. I’m also really happy that there isn’t a dark ending where he goes crazy and does horrible things to you.
Seeing Caesar mature and try hard for Fuka’s sake is endearing.
I’m going to give the second ending the edge over the first, simply because I like the idea of him causing a ruckus trying to get Fuka. It has that forbidden love/relationship appeal to it that I just adore. I’m glad I saved him for last and it ended on a high note.
Favorite Moments
Fuka isn’t normal by a long shot. Then again, every single character in this game is quirky.
Your threats are about as effective as a baby lion roaring, and that’s to say, totally adorable and not scary at all.
Really, that’s the limitations of the otome game genre, only being able to focus on one character at a time and all that…
You know, sometimes Fuka is an idiot, yes, but lines like this are gold. Yes, tell the man that threatened to eat you that he’s wholesome. But… she’s right. He’s loyal and tries hard to do the right thing. If someone tells him it’s not proper or right, he’ll work to fix his views and actions. I loved that about him.
Kyrie bringing the laughter, as usual.
Look closely and you’ll see him blushing. I’m a little upset we never see it close up, but to make up for it one of the CGs features him blushing!
It would not be a good route without a Kyrie zinger or two or three or seven.
He tries so hard to hide his emotions.
There is a very nice CG involving that necklace. I also think this is the only time we get to see this particular expression on him. I love seeing those rare sprites during the story. It’s that extra touch of love that makes games special.
The whole prey thing becomes a pet name haha
This CG is so freaking sweet I LOVE IT!
Whooooo that’s all the characters~ Now for the epilogue and the other little extra things that will hopefully answer all the questions I have about this game. 🙂
